Description:
I am a cat. I have no name yet. Though I was taken in by a teacher's household, humans are selfish and peculiar creatures. My master, despite his nervous stomach weakness, dabbles in various pursuits only to fail at them, and the aesthete finds his purpose in deceiving people... A debut novel by the literary master Soseki that depicts humanity with humor and cynicism from a cat's perspective. This book features the first chapter, originally published as an independent short story in Hototogisu magazine where it was well-received.
