Description:
Toyama and Yukiyo marry without their mothers' consent, each carrying their own circumstances. On their honeymoon in Helsinki, a cloakroom attendant at a restaurant and words from an unfamiliar elderly couple gently embrace the young couple ("Mittens and Sympathy"). In Kanazawa, Taipei, Rome, and Hachijo Island, six exquisite stories depict the moment when sorrow transforms into small happiness on unfamiliar street corners. Winner of the 58th Tanizaki Junichiro Prize.
