Description:
Writer Samukawa waits with his editor for the results of a literary award. While striking a pose and insisting "I'm not writing novels to win prizes," he secretly yearns for the award with desperate intensity. Meanwhile, his editor passionately declares "I believe in your win," while privately muttering "there's no way." Then finally, the phone rings—. This collection of short stories brims with darkly comic masterpieces, including "Another Running Start," which depicts human nature surrounding literary awards with biting irony.
