Description:
Ace of Japan's ski jumping world, Enui—known as the "Birdman"—is poisoned to death. As the investigation stalls, police receive an anonymous letter: a denunciation naming Enui's coach, Minegishi, as the killer. Arrested and held in custody, Minegishi begins to reason through the case from his cell: "My plan was perfect. I completely deceived the police. So who betrayed me?" As both the police investigation and Minegishi's deductions progress, a terrifying "plan" emerges from the shadows. Intricate foreshadowing and a plot that twists and turns at every corner—this is Keigo Higashino's masterpiece, where the criminal himself becomes the detective, deducing the identity of his own informant.
